Many of us grew up with an evening newspaper to read at the end of the day. It was usually a relaxing pre or post dinner read.

There are many early morning news sources, particularly on line. An up to date evening report would be distinctive and enjoyable for many, though it would also take some getting used to for those unfamiliar with an evening news report of local matters.

I think receiving it once a day at 5pm is a great idea. Gives even more time to plan events for next day. I've often found that getting updates in the morning isn't enough time to plan for the day if there's something around town I missed adding to my own calendar.

I'm guessing that people are missing what you would present in an evening release. I don't think that was clear from your original post. If you stated that in the evening people would receive a recap of that day, along with what's happening the next day, I'm guessing they would understand that in the evening is better. Not only for you and preparing it once per day, but us for preparing for the next day. IMHO

Meaning people could read it in the morning if that's when they like to, but they'll receive it the evening before. Just do it and see what happens 😁😁

Evenings are still busy, mornings are quiet - “The Morning Paper” - just more a way of life, quiet, with coffee and catching up and getting started all at the same time. I feel evenings will get lost / buried.

I prefer the morning when it is quiet and I can enjoy a cup of tea with it.

Wouldn't that be the same as allowing you to plan your day if you received the email the night before? Instead of the morning of?
